Stansile Ltd (Rwanda)

Stansile LTD is a science and technology start-up that aims to bridge the equity gaps (10/90 gap) in global health and agriculture science and technology by (1) value addition and repurposing of  commonly used products and services and (2) adapting global solutions to local context through collaborative R&D. Stansile has initiated collaborations in Rwanda from multiple global partnerships in areas such as innovative tools for diagnosis of infections and repurposing of local staple food products for therapeutic benefits. In addition to this, Stansile has been advocating for increased investment in research that directly addresses the global health challenges faced by populations in LMICs, specifically for advancing health outcomes worldwide, especially for diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and other emerging diseases specifically the zoonoses that disproportionately affect vulnerable populations in resource-limited settings (Rift Valley Fever, Ebola and Mpox). Addressing this gap involves not only redesigning fundraising mechanisms but also fostering collaboration, capacity-building, and developing solutions tailored to these regions’ specific needs. Stansile’s main lab is located in Huye, Rwanda, and serves as a hub for cross-cutting research and training, incorporating faculty and trainees from multiple disciplines.
